PressBreak is developed and operated by Russell Greenwood, an individual developer in Australia ("I", "me", or "my"). This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the PressBreak iOS application ("the App"). This policy complies with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • RTMP Stream Settings: Stream URLs and stream keys you enter to connect to streaming platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, etc.). These are stored locally on your device only.
  • Team and Game Information: Team names, colors, scores, and other game data you enter for scoreboard overlays.
  • Custom Overlays: Images and graphics you import for use as overlays during recordings and streams.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device model and iOS version for compatibility purposes.
  • Camera and Microphone: The App accesses your camera and microphone to record and stream video content. This data is processed locally or sent directly to your configured streaming platform.

PlayHQ Integration

If you use the PlayHQ integration feature, the App fetches publicly available game data from PlayHQ's website to automatically update scores and statistics. I do not store your PlayHQ credentials or any data from PlayHQ on servers.

How I Use Your Information

I use the information collected to:

  • Provide the core functionality of recording and streaming video
  • Display scoreboards and overlays on your recordings and streams
  • Save your preferences and settings locally on your device
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Only: All your data (settings, recordings, overlays) is stored locally on your iOS device. I do not operate servers that collect or store your personal data.

Stream Data: When you stream, video and audio data is sent directly from your device to your configured streaming platform (e.g., YouTube, Facebook). I do not intercept or store this data.

Secure Storage: Sensitive information like stream keys is stored in iOS Keychain for enhanced security.

Third-Party Services

The App may connect to the following third-party services based on your configuration:

  • Streaming Platforms: YouTube, Facebook Live, Twitch, or custom RTMP servers you configure
  • PlayHQ: For automatic score updates (optional feature)

Your Privacy Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access: View all data stored by the App in the App's Settings
  • Correction: Modify or correct any information stored in the App
  • Deletion: Delete recordings, settings, and all app data at any time through the App or iOS Settings
  • Withdraw Consent: Revoke camera/microphone permissions in iOS Settings at any time
  • Complaint: Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your information at all times.

Children's Privacy

PressBreak is designed for use by parents, coaches, and videographers recording youth sports. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 where applicable under Australian law). If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact me immediately.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. I will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Jurisdiction and Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. PressBreak is operated from Australia and complies with Australian privacy legislation.
